Home boarding or drop-in visits: choosing pet care in the Hamptons

When you travel, your dog or cat needs care that fits their routine. Personalized home boarding and drop-in visits offer different kinds of support. PetswithBrenda provides care within Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampton, Sag Harbor and East Hampton. Here is what to consider before requesting your dates.

A quiet home stay, not a kennel

PetswithBrenda's overnight home boarding is personalized and limited to a maximum of 3 to 4 dogs at a time. A small group makes space for individual attention, a calm environment and a comfortable home routine.

Before a first stay, we meet your dog and discuss their needs. This helps us check whether the home setting and other guests are a good fit, rather than treating boarding as a one-size-fits-all service.

Visits that preserve a familiar routine

Drop-in visits let cats and dogs stay in familiar surroundings. Visits can include feeding, fresh water, walks, litter box care, medication and quiet company, based on the routine you discuss with the team.

A drop-in visit is not continuous supervision or an overnight stay. Tell us how long your pet is comfortable alone so we can discuss whether visits meet their needs.

Photo and video updates keep you informed after each visit. Our free initial meet & greet lasts up to 20 minutes: time to meet your pet, discuss their routine and check the fit before booking.

What it costs in the Hamptons

Overnight home boarding is $150 per night for the first dog. A second dog from the same family is an additional $75 per night. Capacity is limited to a maximum of 3 to 4 dogs at a time.

Dog walks and home visits are $35 for 30 minutes, $45 for 45 minutes and $55 for 60 minutes, per animal. Saturday and Sunday walks and drop-in visits carry an additional $10 per visit. Ask the team to confirm your quote and availability before booking.

Plan your boarding handoffs

For overnight home boarding, drop-off is between 3 PM and 5 PM and pick-up is between 8 AM and 10 AM. Arrange your handoffs with the team in advance.

Each drop-off or pick-up outside its standard window has an additional $50 fee. Sharing your travel plans early helps the team confirm a schedule and quote without surprises.

If you are unsure which service fits, request a free introduction of up to 20 minutes. We will meet your pet, discuss their routine and help you assess the options without an obligation to book.

A note on summer

July and August weekends, Thanksgiving and the December holidays book out first on the East End, often four to eight weeks ahead. Whichever option you choose, reserve early. Your future self, standing at the airport, will thank you.
